  • FULL-TIME students:  60 ECTS credits.
  • PART-TIME students:  minimum 30 ECTS credits.

Save in exceptional cases, duly justified and verified, changes of registration will not be authorised during the academic year. In all cases, these have to be expressly approved by the Director of the Centre.

Part-time students

Students may apply for part-time student status.  In order to qualify for the status of part-time student, one of the following conditions must be met and verified:

  • Being in employment:

    • In the case of employed workers, the student must provide an up-to-date Informe de Vida Laboral (employment history report) from the Spanish Social Security, as well as a certificate issued to this effect by the owner of the company or by the staff manager of the same, confirming a minimum of 20 hours of work per week.
    • In the case of self-employed workers, in addition to the Spanish Social Security employment history report, certification of registration for Impuesto de Actividades Económicas (Economic Activities Tax) and a photocopy of the payment of the corresponding quota for the current year must be provided.
  • Caring for a relative up to the second degree of kinship by consanguinity or affinity.
  • Being affected by a degree of physical, sensory or mental disability equal to or greater than 33 %, which must be recognized by the competent authority and documented.
  • EBeing affected by serious illness (a medical report must be provided).

However, the Masters board of directors will analyse each case and, following a report from the Masters Academic Committee, will deal with the applications presented by the interested parties, which must be duly justified and documented.

  • Fee exemptions

As stipulated in Decree 11/2015, 29 January, issued by the Junta de Castilla y León, students in the following categories will be wholly or partially exempted from payment of registration fees: Large family.  Students who are members of a Large Family (special category) will be wholly exempt from payment of registration fees.  Members of a Large Family (general category) will be eligible for a 50 % reduction in registration fees.

    • Disabled students must provide documentary evidence of recognition of a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33 % as specified in Article 4 of the Royal Decree 1/2013, 29 November (cf. BOE 3 December 2013) and a copy of a valid document confirming the degree of disability recognised by the administration of the relevant autonomous community.

    • Victims of acts of terrorism.  This must be confirmed by presentation of the mandatory Ministry of the Interior report on the decision by the General State Administration to grant a supplementary pension for victims of acts of terrorism, or of a final court decision in which this has been acknowledged.
    • Victims of gender-based violence: students who are victims of gender-based violence or students whose parents are victims of gender-based violence will be eligible.  Verification of this must be obtained by presentation of the legal ruling either granting a protection order or agreeing to precautionary measures in favour of the victim in a criminal case of gender-based violence, or by the final judgement declaring that the victim has been subject to gender-based violence, or by certification or report from the social or health services of the regional or local public administration, or by the report from the Inspección de Trabajo y de la Seguridad Social (Labour and Social Security Inspectorate), or, exceptionally, by the report of the Ministerio Fiscal (Public Prosecutor's Office) indicating the existence of signs that the plaintiff is a victim of such violence.

    • Holders of grants from the Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte (Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports). A copy of the documentation confirming this must be provided.  Applicants for these grants may formalise the registration without prior payment of the established public fees, on production of a copy of their application form.  Once the grants have been announced, beneficiaries must present the corresponding credentials in the centre’s secretariat within a maximum period of 10 working days after receipt; if they fail to do so, they must pay the fees corresponding to the registration they have completed.

  • Cancellation of registration

Upon request and with adequate justification by the student, it will be possible to carry out the cancellation of full or partial registration fees under the following circumstances:

    • At the request of the interested party.  This type of cancellation may be applied when the student requests it within a period of one month from the start of the academic activity.  In order to do so, the corresponding form addressed to the Director of the Centre must be completed.  In no case will the amount corresponding to administrative expenses (opening of files and processing expenses) set in the public fees for specialised education in Castilla y León be refunded.
    • Official Communication: non-payment of the full or partial amount of the registration fee within the specified periods will entail cancellation of the registration itself without prior notice and without right to refund. Students will be notified of this decision at the address indicated when formalising the registration.

For the purposes of calculating the time permitted for continuance of studies, the cancellation of   registration will not be taken into account.

  • Regulations for continuance of studies

The length of time for continuance of studies will be measured in study units, the maximum number of units being equal to twice the number of years the course lasts.  Each academic year in which the student is registered for full-time study will expend one study unit, while each academic year in the part-time regime will expend 0.5 study units.

The maximum number of study units for the Masters is 2.

Exceeding the maximum units established will determine the impossibility of continuing these Masters studies at ESADCYL.  Any credits recognised by previous studies or those obtained by participation in university activities will not count as approved credits.

Full-time Masters students must accumulate a minimum of 30 credits in the academic year; this minimum will not be demanded of students who need less than 12 credits to complete their studies.

Part-time Masters students must accumulate a minimum of 12 credits in the academic year; this minimum will not be demanded of students who need less than 6 credits to complete their studies.

The possibility of obtaining additional study units may be considered in the following circumstances:

    • Students who have exhausted their study units and still need to do their Dissertation in order to complete their degree will automatically be granted one more unit.
    • Students who are in special situations; each specific case will be assessed and the Masters director, following a report from the Masters Academic Committee, will deal with the applications presented by the interested parties, which must be based on duly justified and documented grounds.
